The Circuit de Catalunya hosts the GP of Spain 2012, european first date of 2012 Formula 1 World Championship Calendar. A weekend that all team are aware of the importance of this race. Historically, teams that good around here, will to do so throughout the season.

The Mugello test sessions, from 1 to 3 May, has not dispelled the doubts about the performance of Ferrari and Fernando Alonso's car. After dominating the first day of testing and end to a tenth of Vettel fastest time on Thursday, it appears that the F2012 has taken a step forward and begin moving closer to Red Bull and McLaren.

Thus, the GP of Spain is presented as the great Italian team validates for to see if this year will fight for the drivers' title and constructors. And one of the keys is in the degradation of the tire.

Pirelli will debut the hard tire (silver) and also take the middle (white) and soft (yellow). This is the first time you use this combination in the season.

For the Monaco GP, Pirelli has announced that the compounds will be the soft (yellow) and the super soft (red). It is expected a week of heat in Catalonia and high temperature on the asphalt of Catalunya. With these data it appears that the key will be able to play with the degradation of the compounds in qualifying and race.

Nico Rosberg - Mercedes AMG

The Qualifying today is taken equally. The fastest time it has taken Nico Rosberg, the German driver gets pole position for the first time in his career, and has done so with style and even getting off the car before the end of the session.

Not only has the best time is that time has succeeded without opposition, in a perfect lap with no mistakes, proving his quality, how well does the Mercedes in qualifying and ... that this year's Formula 1 will to get tighter and tighter, until it eventually go crazy.

The news today is divided because Sebastian Vettel has fallen today in Q2, which was too long to remember, and that evidence both that the championship this year is tighter than ever and there is a problem in the RB8. There is something to rejoice, of course, but this position will give sauce tomorrow's race, with Vettel will have to overcome.

If Q2 was a surprise at the unusual position of Vettel and the evidence that the cars have improved, but some more than others, in Q3 we waited 10 minutes very exciting. Probably the wind affected everyone on track in Q3, because the difference in performance between the 1 minute and 10 was noticed too. In fact, some drivers like Mark Webber scored times worse than in Q2.

See the timesheets. Does anyone expect these results? Rosberg, Hamilton, Schumacher, Kobayashi fourth, Raikkonen fifth ... unexpected results, more sauce for the races and also one more thing: the more varied the race results, the better for Fernando Alonso. It is a way to keep hope until they reach at last the good parts, which improve the real car.

To highlight the role of phenomenal Kobayashi Sauber with Sergio Perez fourth and eighth. Having both drivers in Q3 is a sign indicating the strength of the team this year. With respect to Williams expecting a bit more, but will have to wait to see the performance in the race to fully judge. I think Ferrari has improved, not much but something. Massa goes twelfth, Alonso ninth. At least come close to each other.

Kamui Kobayashi - Sauber

HRT is doing an outstanding job, very near Marussia this Grand Prix, something that Alex expalin in a post analysis of what they have achieved today. Very important, no doubt we will see how they evolve in the race.

F1 Shanghai China 2012 Preview

UBS Chinese Grand Prix, Chinese GP,
Shanghai International Circuit, Shanghai,  April 15, 2012

After two weeks off the Formula 1 World Championship takes the action with a new race: the GP of China. The Shanghai circuit is presented as a technical and complex path to all the teams, especially for Ferrari and Fernando Alonso.

The Spaniard arrives in China quoted the lead under his arm and having broken all the odds in Malaysia. Alonso showed all his virtues in the rain in Sepang for victory completely unexpected in view of the F2012's performance during the weekend.

Now the Ferrari driver will try to defend his privileged position in the layout of Shanghai. Ferrari is expected to have improved the performance of the car but the main improvements are not expected until the appointment of Montmelo, in the middle of May.

Even the GP of Spain, which will release the European Formula 1 season, Alonso will squeeze their privileged hands on a car that normally shown below McLaren, Red Bull and even Mercedes and Lotus.

The Shanghai circuit is a technical track, which combines two great lines, with their brakes, with a second hauling industry and where it will be very necessary to have good downforce.

Alonso knows how to win in China. He did it in 2005 at the hands of Renault. The driver who has won more times in Shanghai is Lewis Hamilton (2008 and 2011).

And if Alonso wants to maintain its lead in the drivers' standings, Red Bull wants to react after a difficult start to the season. Sebastian Vettel is still the big bet of the Austrian team to win the driver's title.

Vettel has already confirmed his confidence a few days ago to start to pick positions, now ranks sixth on 17 points from Fernando Alonso. While his teammate Mark Webber is fourth, eleven points behind Spaniard.

McLaren also want to recover after the last race. Lewis is expected to Hamilton eager after getting the first two poles of the season and failing to win in any of the two races.

The MP4-27 is still the best car on the grid at the start of the season and the Woking based team wants to begin to translate this superiority into victories.

F1 Sepang Malaysia 2012 Preview

 F1 Sepang Malaysia 2012
Sepang International Circuit
    Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia
23, 24, 25 March 2012

No rest after the F1 World began in Australia last weekend, the Great Circus arrives in Malaysia for the second calendar appointment. McLaren was the strongest team in the first round of the championship, while Red Bull was not far in the race, or Mercedes or Lotus in qualifying. But the Melbourne circuit is not very representative of the potential of each car, so in Sepang, with all curves, long straights and more demanding than that of Melbourne with the tires, should clarify the current situation more competitive.

With several changes in direction of high speed, features two long straights, twisty corners, and closed hairpins, the Sepang circuit, which hosts the F1 GP since 1999 is considered one of the best modern circuits. Finding a good balance on the car is vital, and it is no coincidence that the last three seasons the winner of this GP has achieved the world title ...

In Sepang downforce needed for its many curves, good cooling by heat, and low drag for the straights. The heat and humidity of the tropics adds another dimension to the race, being too hard on the mechanics, drivers and everyone in F1. Besides its characteristic and sudden intense downpours of rain dramatically affect the competition as we have seen in 2001 and 2009, and keep the eyes on, because this weekend could be a good example.

F1 Melbourne Australia 2012 Preview

 F1 Melbourne Australia 2012
Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit
Albert Park, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia

We arrived at the first race of the year with many unknowns, with new regulations that have only managed to go crazy and create a few cars uglier than ever, and exhaust blown diffusers are banned based on what was considered the determining factor in last year: the rear diffusers whose air flow was accelerated by the airflow passing over them, coming from the exhaust pipes.

However, there are teams that have drawn the logical continuity, such as Red Bull. They had the best car for the last three years, and this fourth year is not expected to change the thing. In addition Newey continues as chief head, and his team responding to his crazy ideas. The car, they say, will be competitive from the first Grand Prix, and that is the key to see a decent fight throughout the season.

McLaren and Ferrari will not give respite to the energy drink team. Lewis Hamilton will try to learn from the mistakes of the past year and focus on the competition, while teammate Jenson Button, more and more comfortable at McLaren, will show his skills in managing the tires, a quality that can be even more important than last year.

Ferrari took a radical change in direction, as they sent the results seen. Fernando Alonso still as standard, but the Spaniard, how good he is, he can not do any miracles if the car is not up to par. Lack of the performance on the track, but if this year is not "their year", Montezemolo should review his strategy. Because Ferrari left the hole with the lost of Brawn, Todt, Byrne and Schumacher, was not only the driver, but because it created a dream team of engineers, technicians and administrative staff.

But knowing the two main candidates to victory, the big question comes from outsiders the luxury. Mercedes should finally give a winning car Rosberg and Brawn says "this is the year." But then, while they are watching its development program, Lotus has appeared there, the squad of Enstone, which seems to have regained much lost ground and has Raikkonen as strut. Promise, and workouts have made clear.

Sauber, Toro Rosso, and the new Caterham should strive to steal points from time to time, and nothing else. All three have their pluses and minuses about their drivers (paying some inexperienced others), while Kobayashi and Kovalainen are quite good.

The HRT and Marussia and painted a different color. It is the best year of HRT in terms of stability and funding. They have a first class drivers, but start from absolute zero, with an entirely new car that has just run in, and suffer to evolve. It is the first year of a very long cycle, is very nearly as if they start again. And what of Marussia is three-quarters of the same. Russian money is there, but it seems that the car was not born good, and has barely been tested.

If you say you bet on a world champion, apparently seen, we would say one of three: Button, Hamilton and Vettel (in alphabetical order). That Raikkonen, Alonso, Rosberg and even win races is not impossible. With a long season anything can happen. Everybody, Welcome to 2012 F1 season.

F1 Brazil Interlagos Sao Paulo Preview 2011

F1 Brazil GP November 27, 2011
FORMULA 1 GRANDE PRÊMIO PETROBRAS DO BRASIL 2011
Autódromo José Carlos Pace, Interlagos

Formula One World Championship 2011 down the curtain this weekend in Sao Paulo's Interlagos circuit, scene of a Brazilian Grand Prix in which the only motivation will be to know who the runner-up title fight testimonial for which the Jenson Button (McLaren), Spanish Fernando Alonso (Ferrari) and Australian Mark Webber (Red Bull).

In addition, Germany's Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) will look to repeat victory at Interlagos last year, after a season that has dominated from start to finish and has consecrated in advance, since the Japanese Grand Prix as champion of the category .

With the championship decided, both drivers and constructors, the fight at Interlagos on Sunday will be for second place, between Button, Alonso and Webber, the three separated by 22 points.

Vettel, who at 24 is the youngest double world champion in Formula One, has been unattainable in this season that has been imposed with authority in 11 of the 18 Grand Prix starts, and try to recoup Sao Paulo its abandonment in Abu Dhabi, the first after 19 races across the finish line.

With 374 points, 119 more than Button, second place, the world champion can fatten their record at the close of the season, especially when it has to do with first places in the grid and number of wins.

Vettel, who in 2010 had to wait until the last Grand Prix to win his first world title in a duel to the final meters from Alonso, comes this time to Brazil with the second trophy in his pocket, but with bad taste that left him two weeks ago the Grand Prix of Abu Dhabi, who left in the first round with a jab, his only retirement this year.

This abandonment left him without the option of calling this year's record for victories in a season. It is two of the absolute world record with thirteen, has since 2004 his compatriot Michael Schumacher. If he wins at Interlagos, will remain one.

Without the attraction of the fight for the title, the focus of the 71 laps José Carlos Pace in Interlagos, which are traversed in the opposite direction to clockwise, it will be for what they can do Button, Alonso and Webber for the final podium alongside Vettel.

The Sao Paulo circuit brings good memories to Spanish driver, who, despite not having ever won the Grand Prix of Brazil, said that test his two world titles in 2005 and 2006, when he raced with Renault.

The Spaniard, who won this year at Silverstone (UK) and has four second places this season, arrived in Brazil in the third place overall with 245 points, just ten less than Button, world champion in 2009.

But to be on the right of the podium, Alonso must win at Interlagos and hope that McLaren does not reach the top three.

Button, who has won this year in Canada, Hungary and Japan, also has four second places and the 255 points that adds a third place will suffice, no matter what Alonso do on Sunday to finish as runner-up.

Webber's is more difficult since his 233 points give only a mathematical chance to materialize, would have the kind of egregious setback of the two champions who scolded for second place.

The Australian, who in 2010 gave the title fight with Alonso, Vettel and Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), world champion in 2008, this year has been far below the performance of his team-mate.

Although Red Bull is so powerful and reliable as that of Vettel, Webber is slow to start and has gone blank the season with two second place as best result.

Meanwhile Hamilton, who won in Abu Dhabi after winning their third victory in China and Germany, has 227 points that allow him to dream, at most, with third place on the podium.

The Brazilian Grand Prix is always an opportunity for the home drivers this year but not to give battle.

The overall best position is Felipe Massa (Ferrari), sixth with 108 points and far below the 2008 level when he won in Sao Paulo, yet he lost the title in the final seconds with Hamilton.

Rubens Barrichello (Williams) and Bruno Senna (Renault), whose best ranking this year was ninth with cars that get to aspire to get into the scoring zone.

F1 Abu Dhabi GP November 13, 2011
2011 FORMULA 1 ETIHAD AIRWAYS ABU DHABI GRAND PRIX
Yas Marina, United Arab Emirates

The F1 2011 travels to the capital of the UAE to celebrate the penultimate round of the 2011 F1 World Championship. Fernando Alonso lost the title here in 2010.

The Formula 1 World Championship 2011 is coming to an end with Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull) that continues to reap victories, after rising, too, to the top of the podium in India. This weekend (11 to November 13) is disputed Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit, where the champion Vettel scored his first F1 title last year. A win that got away from Fernando Alonso (Ferrari), the then leader of the World Championship due to an error in strategy. Mark Webber (Red Bull) also fared badly in 2010 in this circuit and had to see how his companion win the title.

This year things are already decided from that Vettel was crowned world champion in the Japanese Grand Prix but it remains to know who will be with the runner-up. Jenson Button (McLaren) has a lot going for it continues to reap podiums and is second in the drivers' standings with 240 points. Fernando Alonso, third with 227 points. Mark Webber is fourth with 221 points. Worse for Lewis Hamilton (McLaren), fifth in the standings. Nevertheless, the British hoped to finish the season as "a good winner."

The first edition of the GP of India in the new Buddh International Circuit on the outskirts of New Delhi generates much interest in being a different track, one of the longest straight in the championship as a long curve 8, Istanbul Park and pronounced ups and downs.

After snatching the first pole position of the year in Korea, the McLaren drivers try to avoid the blue cars of Red Bull achieve a new record of 16 poles in a season. Also Ferrari and Mercedes can do the same thing, the fight in this season finale in the middle of the constructors' championship between Renault, Force India, Toro Rosso and Sauber promises to be exciting.

 F1 Korean October 16, 2011
2011 FORMULA 1 KOREAN GRAND PRIX
Korea International Circuit

No rest after the Japanese Grand Prix, Formula 1 returns this weekend for the GP of Korea. Unfortunately for the viewers, Sebastian Vettel already grab his second world title at Japan GP with four races to go. So, that we have a final stretch of emotion in that respect what he has done to open discussions about the best method of scoring for the championship and has put to work to Ferrari and McLaren for the overwhelming dominance of Red Bull does not recur next season.

Last season, the GP of Korea was rather chaotic due to a track that was still not ideal conditions to receive the F1 to which was added the rain. At that time we live in a bad weekend for Red Bull looked like Fernando Alonso won the race and put as championship leader. However, only winning and runner-up will be in play this weekend.

The Japanese GP at Suzuka has decided many occasions for the drivers' world championship and will do so again unless disaster this year. Sebastian Vettel was crowned at age 24 as the youngest champion in history already entering the group of drivers who have achieved more than a world title. For the resolution of the championship will be delayed if the German not to score here and Korean GP (something that has not happened all year) and Jenson Button would win the GP. Very complicated especially considering that this is one of his favorite circuit and Vettel has won the last two gp's here. 10th Position is enough for the Red Bull ace to be crowned F1 World Champion yet again.

Among the many curiosities that has this track are to be run in the opposite direction clockwise and night. It also tends to be the longest race of the year, reaching almost two-hour limit imposed by the FIA.

Only two drivers on the grid have won in the streets of Singapore: Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. The Spanish rider also has climbed the podium ever in this race and try not to lose the streak. The British, meanwhile, will seek to replicate the success of 2009 after having to leave last year. The other great and current World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, wants his first victory in the Asian city, after demonstrating in 2010 that neither gives the urban poor.
