F1 2011 Singapore GP Preview

 F1 Singapore September 25, 2011
2011 FORMULA 1 SINGTEL SINGAPORE GRAND PRIX
Marina Bay Street Circuit

Formula 1 makes it back to Europe next season and starts the final Asian tour that will take us through 5 different countries. And what better way to re-orient with the only night race of the year. The fourteenth test scoring for the Formula 1 World Championship 2011 played in the 1,500 bulbs will light up the asphalt of the city-state.

The Asian Tour is a street circuit set in the heart of the city of Singapore and has been in Formula 1 only since 2008. Has a length of 5073 meters, which drivers must complete up to 61 times on Sunday to get a total distance of 309,316 km race. The 23 curves up, 9 of them right and 14 left. Among the many curiosities that has this track are to be run in the opposite direction clockwise and night. It also tends to be the longest race of the year, reaching almost two-hour limit imposed by the FIA.

Only two drivers on the grid have won in the streets of Singapore: Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton. The Spanish rider also has climbed the podium ever in this race and try not to lose the streak. The British, meanwhile, will seek to replicate the success of 2009 after having to leave last year. The other great and current World Champion, Sebastian Vettel, wants his first victory in the Asian city, after demonstrating in 2010 that neither gives the urban poor. Also, if there are some specific circumstances, the German could proclaimed champion here.
