GP2 Nurburgring Germany 2011
The sixth round of the 2011 GP2 Series ™ will be held this week at the Nurburgring, a challenging circuit, where one of the key factors will be very changeable weather conditions, and where relatively high downforce is required for achieve the best possible grip. There are two clear places to advance: the rapid decline in turns 1 and 13. Desired braking and turning for these high-speed corners is always a challenge for the drivers and force them to drive safe tires.
Due to the alternation of the German Grand Prix Nürburgring and Hockenheim between, the GP2 cars have not raced at this track since 2009 so it will be a first for the new Dallara 2011 and Pirelli tires. The 2011 season of the GP2 series is being hotly contested, with seven different winners in the ten races so far, so the driver and team championships and are still very open.
