World Superbike Germany Nürburgring September 4, 2011
The tenth race of the 2011 World Superbike Championship season is almost upon us. On the famous Nürburgring track, the centaurs of the premier class derived from the series will return to the saddle after the summer break, the first of four final events of the year. The track of the Rhineland-Palatinate has been back on the SBK circus in 2008, after 8 seasons of absence, bringing with it the addition of a new section immediately following the first corner, the so-called "Mercedes Arena." This is a complex of curves slow corner which increased the total length of the track, not as simple as finding a good set-up.
After the perfect round at Silverstone (twice in the race, the fourth in season), the leader Carlos Checa (Ducati Althea) looks like this in the land of Germany with advantage of 62 points over his rival for the title, and defending champion, Max Biaggi (Aprilia Alitalia). This huge advantage in terms of ranking expert Spaniard gives the opportunity to better manage this trip, on a path that has never seen but that the winner has delivered the second step of the podium in race one last year, and two third places in 2009.
