F1 Chinese GP: Hamilton takes pole Raikkonen second and Alonso finishes third. The English Mercedes driver was faster in a qualifying session marked by the strange uses equipment made from tires. Vettel, who tried the pole hard tires did not complete one lap and starts ninth. The important thing in a weekend happens on Sunday is clear, but it seems that increasingly despises all previous work, it seems a reality this year. If last season was typical to see how Red Bull did not show their cards until Q3, this year it seems that everyone wants to hide until the race. In this chaos of lies and deceit in the Grand Prix of China, the biggest beneficiary was Lewis Hamilton who made the fastest time of the weekend when he needed it. Alonso, confirming the good feelings he had from Thursday, signed the third. The Englishman, oblivious to the strange tactic that Red Bull forced Webber to stop in Q2 due to lack of gasoline, was devoted to his own. The Mercedes driver set the fastest time of the entire weekend in his only attempt of Q3. He turned almost perfect in order to achieve his first pole position with his new team. Just behind him on the grid tomorrow will come a Fernando Alonso which continues to demonstrate the strength of Ferrari in Shanghai circuit stay despite nearly a second to the Briton. In between Kimi Raikkonen slipped with his Lotus Renaults, which was the other driver to a minute and thirty five seconds. Behind, ninth, finished a Sebastian Vettel came strangely into Q3 on hard tires, unlike the other riders. Only Hulkenberg, whose struggle was not the 'pole'-imitated his compatriot and pulled on the harder tire. The Red Bull driver confirmed after the race that it was a planned strategy and accepted by the whole team after watching the huge soft wheels degradation. As the German said, "we will see if it is a good strategy or not." For the first time ever, Red Bull waive the pole and think boldly in the race. The handicap is that Vettel starts ninth and must overcome to reach the noble. His first stop will be later than the eight rivals to be ahead but is he able to return to the track all lost in classification? The answer are there at Sunday's race.
